In 2022, BRAVO 369 Chairman Jeff Geer faced the news that no one wants to hear: "You have cancer." The diagnosis was Stage 3C metastatic melanoma that had spread to upper body lymph nodes. This led to two surgeries, six weeks of radiation therapy, and a full year of immunotherapy infusions — a grueling and life-altering journey. Fortunately, Jeff is now in surveillance with no evidence of disease.
During his treatment, Jeff spent countless hours at the Cancer Center, where he witnessed many individuals fighting even more challenging battles. He saw families, exhausted and terrified, yet showing incredible courage each day, which deeply inspired him.
This experience solidified his purpose, and Jeff made a promise: if he survived cancer, he would dedicate his life to advocating for those who couldn’t. The Cancer Warrior Squadron emerged from that pledge — a heartfelt mission to provide childhood cancer support, giving back one aircraft, one mission, and one child at a time, while also emphasizing the importance of fundraising for cancer research.
Inspiration and Hope: BRAVO 369 aims to inspire and bring hope to those facing cancer. It illustrates that successful treatment is possible even at advanced stages, and that a return to a normal life is achievable after treatment. The resilience and determination of our cancer warrior squadron can illuminate the path, even during the darkest times.
Fundraising Partnership: Our mission is to build meaningful fundraising partnerships to support institutions like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and other pediatric cancer hospitals across the nation. The funding we raise contributes to advanced cancer research and provides financial relief to families with children receiving treatment, enhancing childhood cancer support.
Every Aircraft, One Mission: A range of aircraft participate in these flights, each becoming a flying ambassador for children fighting cancer. Regardless of the type, every airplane captivates audiences, sparks conversations, and creates opportunities to share stories and build support for the cancer warriors we fly for. Wherever we land, our aircraft opens doors for awareness, connection, and community support.
(COMING SOON) Real-Time Interactive Experience: Our flights will incorporate real-time interactive technology for cancer patients who may be confined to hospitals or homes during treatment. This technology fosters an environment where patients can virtually unite with other cancer warriors, participate in virtual flights, and connect with a supportive community. Additionally, it allows for real-time tracking of the flight’s progress, keeping both the media and the public informed, advancing fundraising for cancer research.
