Flight Simulation

One of the most interesting components of the Flight for Education is that the BRAVO 369 Flight Team and Google are currently developing technology that will bring the 2011 flight to Russia directly to the classroom and your personal computer in real time using Google Earth, and Microsoft Flight Simulator software.

The BRAVO 369 Flight Team is proud to announce that they will be working with the Google development team on integrating the aircraft instruments & systems with Google Earth and Microsoft Flight Simulator to bring the flight experience to you in real time.  The experience will be just like piloting the Boeing Stearman or flying in formation next to it with the ability to see the surrounding terrain in real time just as Boeing Stearman Pilot Jeff Geer will see it during his flights.

In addition to support from the Google engineering team key former members of Microsoft's Flight Simulator team will be supporting Bravo 369 Flight Foundation's efforts to integrate the real world of this historic flight with the virtual world of Microsoft's Flight Simulator X.  “This is an exciting opportunity to bring the Flight Education into the classroom and the home in real time with Google Earth and Microsoft Flight Simulator software” says BRAVO 369 Stearman pilot Jeff Geer.

Hal Bryan with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), BRAVO 369 flight team member and former Microsoft’s Flight Simulator Community Evangelist, says “We’re extremely excited about the Bravo 369 Flight Foundation’s plans, and privileged that they’ve chosen Microsoft Flight Simulator in addition to Google Earth as key components to enhance and extend the educational aspects of the flight.”

In addition to bringing the “Flight for Education” into the classroom and computer desktop, the BRAVO 369 Flight Team and Google Earth Engineering teams are looking into the possibility transmitting live video, radio communications and cockpit audio to enhance the educational value and flight simulation experience.
